Ingredients
- 3 sticks butter(land of lakes, salted) @ room temperature
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract(you can use 1 tsp and leave off the lemon if you prefer to have plain pound cake)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
How To Make pound cake(lemon or plain)

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 325 Grease a tube pan and line the bottom with wax paper.(Do not grease the top of the wax paper)

Step 2Sift flour & baking powder together and set aside. Measure and mix milk with flavoring(s)

Step 3Cream Butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add Flour mixture and milk mixture alternating. Mix batter well.

Step 4Pour batter into the tube pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until golden brown and toothpick inserted comes out dry.

Step 5Allow to cool for about 15 minutes then run a butter knife or long thin spatula between the cake pan and the cake. Remove cake from tube pan by inverting the entire pan with cake onto a big round plate. Remove the tube and wax paper from the bottom of the cake. Carefully place a cake plate onto the bottom of the cake and reverse the cake back up to rest on the cake plate.
