When I was about 9 yrs. old my neighbor and I used to play scrabble together all the time. She used to make this alot, and I had to have the recipe.

  • 1 pkg
    yellow or white cake mix - no pudding in the mix
  • 1/2 c
  • 4
  • 1 c
  • 3/4 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 pkg
    3.1/2 oz. instant pistachio pudding
  • 3/4 c
    hershey chocolate syrup
  • ·
    green food coloring

How to Make Pistachio Cake


  1. Mix all ingredients except choc. syrup.
  2. Add green food coloring to preferred shade to mix. Mix a couple of minutes until smooth.
  3. Take out 1 and 1/2 cups of batter from mix and put into small mixing bowl. Add the chocolate syrup to the 1 1/2 cups of batter in the small bowl. Mix well
  4. Pour the green mix into a well greased and floured angle food cake pan. Then pour the choc. mix on top of that evenly.
    (Optional) Sprinkle with chopped Pecans
  5. Bake at 350 about 55 min.
    Let cake cool B-4 removing cake from pan.
