Heard this on NPR years ago. Although I am essentially a no box mix person I tried this and it was just lovely in taste and appearance. This is really a wonderful holiday cake!

Ingredients

  • 1 box good quality white cake mix, such as duncan hines no pudding
  • 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup champagne
  • - food color to tint batter
  • - butter cream frosting
  • - food color to tint frosting

How To Make pink champagne cake

  • Step 1
    prepare cake mix to box directions, adding champagne ( could be dry, sweet, pink etc ) for the liquid
  • Step 2
    use food color to tint the batter
  • Step 3
    frost as desired with favorite butter cream using about 3 Tbs champagne for the liquid in the recipe
