Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 8 1/2 ounces pineapple, canned or fresh
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 t teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 large egg
  • t teaspoon vanilla

How To Make pineapple upside down cake

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in a round cake pan. Sprikle brown sugar over melted butter. Place pineapple over sugar.
  • Step 2
    Mix remaining ingredients together on low speed with a hand mixer. Increase speed to high speed for three minutes, scaping bowl occasionally. Pour over pineapple. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 45 mintue or until toothpick comes out clean.
