I got this recipe when I was a freshman in HS in Warner Robins, GA. In those days, most girls took home ec. This is one of my favorite recipes from that class.

Ingredients For pineapple upside down cake

3eggs
-
1 csugar
-
1 stickbutter
-
1/2 cmilk
-
2 call purpose flour
-
1 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspvanilla
- TOPPING

brown sugar, enough to cover bottom of skillet

butter, thin slices scattered over brown sugar

pineapple, slices, drained (reserve juice)

maraschino cherries, enough for 1 per pineapple slice
How To Make pineapple upside down cake

1Put brown sugar in bottom of iron skillet, place thin slices of butter over sugar, moisten with pineapple juice.

2Place pineapple slices in pan, place maraschino cherry in hole of each pineapple ring.

3Make batter as for any cake. Pour over pineapple/cherry/brown sugar.

4Bake for 1 hr at 250 degrees.
