I have been making this never fail recipe from Mary Jo for nearly 35 years!

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 package instant pineapple or vanilla pudding mix (small box)
  • 8 ounces cool whip
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 13 ounces crushed pineapple, canned

How To Make pineapple picnic cake

  • Step 1
    Bake cake as directed on box in a 9x13 pan. COOL.
  • Step 2
    Blend the cream cheese and milk until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Add the pudding and blend well.
  • Step 4
    Spread all of the above on top of cooled cake.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle well drained pineapple on top of pudding mixture. Then spread cool whip. Top with chopped walnuts. Refrigerate!
