This wonderful frosting goes really well on a chocolate cake. It is a bit on the caramel side but with brown sugar flavor. This was my sister Jackie's favorite frosting. She always wanted mom to make it for her.

  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    white sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • ·
    dash of salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    karo syrup
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter

How to Make Penuche (Brown Sugar) Boiled Frosting

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix and boil hard for one minute. Remove from heat and let cool a while. Then beat until easy to spread. Will cover a 9 x 13 cake.
