Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    butter, at room temperature
  • 2/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 11/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 2
    pears, sliced
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped
  • CINNAMON SUGAR

  • 11/2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Pear Cinnamon-Sugar Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 400. Grease and flour 9" round cake pan.
  2. Beat butter and brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Add vanilla and egg and mix until combined.
  4. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon.
  5. Add to the mixer, alternating with buttermilk.
  6. Fold in half of the pecans.
  7. Spread batter in pan. Arrange pear slices on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and remaining pecans.
  8. Bake for 20 -25 minutes until edges are golden and center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Serve warm, if desired.
