My mother always used to make this and we all loved it! Now, I make it for my own family and friends and it always pleases. My husband prefers extra chocolate chips to be added, so don't be afraid to add more if your family likes them too! With chocolate, peanut-butter, and soft moist cake - what's not to love! Plus it's easy on the cook and bakes up fast!

Ingredients For peanut crunch cake

  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix
  • 1 c
    peanut butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 lg
    eggs
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/4 c
vegetable oil (or oil of preference)
  • 1/2 c
peanut butter chips or butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c
    chopped peanuts

How To Make peanut crunch cake

  • 1
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
  • 2
In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, peanut butter, and brown sugar on low speed until well combined and crumbly. Set aside 1/2 cup of this mixture.
  • 3
Add the liquids to the bowl (eggs, water, oil) and mix on medium speed for 2 minutes, getting out most of the lumps.
  • 4
Hand mix in half of the chips and pour into a glass 9x13 greased pan. (If you use a different type of pan, the baking time may need to be adjusted.)
  • 5
Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture evenly over the top. Sprinkle remaining chips and chopped peanuts over that and then bake for 30-35 minutes. BE CAREFUL not to over bake the cake or it will become dry and crumbly. I like to take it out when a cake pick comes out just barely clean.
