peanut butter whoopie pies

This is my own twist on the popular whoopie pies.

Ingredients

  • CAKE PART
  • 1 box cake mix, chocolate fudge
  • FILLING
  • 2 cups milk
  • 10 tablespoons flour
  • 1 stick crisco
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups peanut butter

How To Make peanut butter whoopie pies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Cake rounds: Prepare cake mix according to package directions with the exception of the water/milk required. Use approximately 1/4 less water than required. My mix required 1 1/3 cups water and i used 1 cup.
  • Step 3
    Filling: Mix together milk and flour in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until mixture thickens and resembles mashed potatoes. Set aside to cool. Once mixture is cooled, cream together Crisco, butter, sugar, peanut butter and cooled mixture. Beat on high speed for approximately 5 mins. The filling will be fluffy and a light tan color.
