peanut butter chocolate cake

My family loves this cake. Our neighbor gave me the recipe years ago. She bakes this cake and takes it up to the miners for lunch. It is a cake that is good eaten warm or after it has cooled. Very rich and moist.

- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup water
- 2 sticks oleo
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ICING
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 stick oleo (blue package of blue bonnet margarine)
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
How To Make peanut butter chocolate cake

Step 1Mix flour, sugar and soda in a mixing bowl. Put water, oleo, and cocoa in saucepan and bring to boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.

Step 2Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well. Pour in a greased and floured 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Step 3For Icing...Put 3 Tablespoons of cocoa, 6 Tablespoons buttermilk and 1 stick of oleo in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat.

Step 4Add 1/2 cup of peanut butter and 1 box of powdered sugar. Let cake cool about 10 minutes and then poor icing over the cake.
