Who doesn't love Peanut Butter? Everytime I make this cake for pitch-ins, I am asked for the recepie. This cake is so moist and yummy. It freezes well without frosting). Kids LOVE IT!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon bakins soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • - frosting:
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanut butter cups--optional

How To Make peanut butter cake

  • Step 1
    In sauce pan, combine butter, peanut butter and water. Cook until well blended. In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Add saucepan mixture to bowl and mix well. Batter will be thin. Bake at 350* for 10-15 minutes in a 15 x 10 x2 inch ungreased pan. Poke holes in cake with fork before frosting.
  • Step 2
    In Saucepan, melt butter, peanut butter and water, Mix well. Stir in vanilla and gradually add powered sugar. Mix well. Spread over warm cake. Frosting may be thin like glaze, which is how we prefer it. Top with chopped peanut butter cup.
