This is a simple and delicious cake that can be made with or without the jello. It's a twist on PB&J that will have kids begging for more. The way I love to enjoy it is when the cake is still warm with a tall glass of cold milk. Sure takes me back to my childhood! You can use different flavors of jello - strawberry for example. For a fun twist, you can skip the jello all-together and substitute the vanilla pudding with a box of banana cream pudding. You can also switch toppings. Just the plain peanut butter pound cake topped with marshmallow fluff. A fluffernutter like no other!

Ingredients

  • PEANUT BUTTER POUND CAKE
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 box vanilla instant pudding
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter, creamy
  • FOR THE POKE PART!
  • 1 box grape jello gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water

How To Make peanut butter and jello poke cake

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients with mixer set at low speed. Pour into prepared 13 x 9 pan. Bake for 45 min to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Step 2
While cake is baking, in a small bowl pour one cup of boiling water into one box of grape jello gelatin and whisk until smooth. Set aside.
  • Step 3
Remove cake from oven and, while still hot, poke holes in top with a straw or fork (straw is better). Pour HOT grape jello slowly over cake, making sure you pour some in each hole. Place cake in refrigerator to cool completely and allow jello to set slightly.
  • Step 4
Place a container of cream cheese frosting in microwave for 35 to 40 seconds then pour over cooled cake. Spread evenly. Cut and serve.
