Fresh, canned or frozen, Peaches are good any time of the year, but I have to say there is nothing better than a fresh peach.

Ingredients

1/3 c
shortening
2/3 c
sugar
2/3 c
milk
1 tsp
vanilla
2
eggs
2 tsp
baking powder
1 2/3 c
flour
1/8 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
almond flavoring

PEACH MIXTURE

1/3 c
butter
1 c
light brown sugar
1 1/2 c
sliced peaches

Step-By-Step

1Beat together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and beat well, Pour over peach mixture.
2Place butter in a 9 by 13 inch baking pan and let butter melt in oven. Sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Add peaches cover with cake batter.
3Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Turn out of pan upside down with peaches facing up.
4Serve hot or cold with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.
