I posted this recipe with my Orangey Cake recipe from my mom, however, I think it deserves its on recipe posting. This is packed with orange flavor and is the perfect companion for the Orangey Cake. I have also used it thinned to glaze other cakes and desserts. I will be including this in my cookbook so I have included a photo of my mom as the main photo.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 8 ounce package of cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 3 1/2-4 cups confectioners' sugar(sifted)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest

How To Make orangey frosting

  • Step 1
Beat the butter and cream cheese in a medium bowl with your electric mixer on low until well combined. About 1 to 2 minutes. Pour in the sifted, confectioner’s sugar, ½ cup at a time, and beat on low until the mixture is combined. Add the zest and orange juice and mix until the frosting is smooth. Add extra confectioners’ sugar a little at a time if you want the consistency thicker.
  • Step 2
