This is a spin on a cake my mother has made for years.

Ingredients

  • 1 box duncan hines butter recipe cake mix
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream, room temp
  • 3 teaspoons orange extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 ounces pkg cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons orange juice

How To Make orange sour cream cake

  • Step 1
    Cream the two sticks of softened butter with 3/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Step 2
    Add cake mix, flour, baking powder, eggs, sour cream and extract. Mix at medium speed for 4 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Pour batter in to greased and floured bundt or tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for an hour (your oven may vary so check at 45-50 mins).
  • Step 4
    For Glaze: Cream together 3oz package of cream cheese with 1 cup of powdered sugar, orange juice and orange extract. Pour glaze over completely cooled cake.
