I love coconut, packs of orange slices, dates, and pecans. Have to admit the first time I ate this cake was the first time I had cooked with orange slices.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 package chopped dates
- 4 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1 package orange slices, chopped
- 1 can or 1/2 bag of coconut
- GLAZE
- 2 cups 10x confectioner's sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons orange rind
How To Make orange slice cake

Step 1Combine butter, sugar, buttermilk, eggs, soda in large mixing bowl. Add flour slowly blending in well.

Step 2Add dates, pecans, orange slices, and coconut.

Step 3Bake 2 hours in tube pan at 250. When you take it out of the oven, while hot pour glaze over it.

Step 4Glaze: in saucepan combine orange juice, rind, and confectioner's sugar and bring to boil. Pouring it on hot cake. Serve hot or cold. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
