  • 1 lb
    orange candy slices [cut up]
  • 1 can(s)
    coconut, flaked
  • 2 c
    chopped pecans
  • 8 oz
    chopped dates
  • 2 box
    orange jello
  • 1 c
    margarine or butter
  • 2 c
  • 3 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 4 large
  • 1 c
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp

  • 1/2 c
    orange juice
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make Orange Slice Cake


  1. Line the bottom of a large tube pan with greased waxed paper, Do not grease the sides of the pan.
  2. Sift three cups of flour with soda, salt, and jello. Cream butter, Add sugar and cream well. Add eggs, one at a time. Alternate sifted flour with milk. Add nuts, coconut, and dates. Use the remaining 1/2 cup of flour to coat the cut up orange candy slices. Fold the candy in last with as little mixing as possible to keep the candy from settling. Bake in a large tube pan at 250 degrees for 3 hours, Do not remove from pan. Pour a mixture of the frosting over the cake while it is still hot, let set in pan until cold.
