Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange peel, grated
- 5 - eggs
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
How To Make orange poppy seed cake

Step 1Set the oven to the lowest rack, and preheat to 350.

Step 2Grease and flour a 9 x 5 loaf pan.

Step 3Mix flour, poppy seeds and salt together and set aside.

Step 4In a large bowl, cream the butter and eggs, one at a time.

Step 5Beat well until light and fluffy and the batter has increased in size.

Step 6Fold in the flour mixture, one third at a time.

Step 7Pour into the pan.

Step 8Bake 60 minutes or until lightly browned.

Step 9If the cake browns too quickly shield with foil the last 10 minutes.

Step 10Cool pan on rack for 10 minutes.

Step 11Remove from the pan, and cool and then brush with the glaze.

Step 12Let the cake stand 1-2 days for the best flavor.
