orange pillows
My mom made this a few times when I was a child. It was one of those kinds of desserts that you can't eat just one. Her recipe popped up here in her treasure chest of very old cookbooks and recipes. I'd like to share that memory with you. The photo is not mine but just to give you a visual image of what it looks like.

Yield: 2 Dozen
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup bisquick
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- - pinch of salt
- 1 cup milk and 2 eggs - beat together
- - orange zest from 1 orange
- 1 - freshly squeezed juice from 1 orange
How To Make orange pillows

Step 1Zest the orange before squeezing the juice out.

Step 2Mix dry ingredients in large bowl.

Step 3Add milk-egg mixture, orange zest and orange juice the to dry ingredients and mix well.

Step 4Drop by spoonfuls in heated oil and fry till golden brown. Toothpick test the pillows, toothpick should come out clean.

Step 5Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle powdered sugar or regular granulated sugar over the orange pillows. Good hot or cold.
