I made this frosting for an orange cake my granddaughter's 4th birthday. I think the "Parkay" is what made it so creamy. I like to use evaporated milk instead of regular. Lemon flavoring gave it a little kick because the icing tends to be sweet.

Ingredients

1 box
powdered sugar
1 stick
margarine (parkay)
2 Tbsp
evaporated milk
2 Tbsp
orange juice
1 tsp
butter flavoring or vanilla extract
1/2-1 tsp
lemon extract
1-2
dash (es) salt
5
yellow food coloring drops
3
red food coloring drops

MAY ADD MORE POWDERED SUGAR OR ORANGE JUICE OR MILK IF NEEDED. I ALSO THINK CREAM CHEESE WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION..

How to Make Orange Cream Frosting

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream margarine or butter.
  • 2Gradually add powdered sugar alternately with milk and orange juice. Beating well with mixer.
  • 3Mix in yellow and red food color drops. Mix until well blended.
  • 4Add salt, and flavorings. Mixing until smooth.

    Spread on cake, cupcakes or cookies.
