I made this frosting for an orange cake my granddaughter's 4th birthday. I think the "Parkay" is what made it so creamy. I like to use evaporated milk instead of regular. Lemon flavoring gave it a little kick because the icing tends to be sweet.

Ingredients For orange cream frosting

  • 1 box
    powdered sugar
  • 1 stick
    margarine (parkay)
  • 2 Tbsp
    evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 1 tsp
    butter flavoring or vanilla extract
  • 1/2-1 tsp
    lemon extract
  • 1-2
    dash (es) salt
  • 5
    yellow food coloring drops
  • 3
    red food coloring drops
  • MAY ADD MORE POWDERED SUGAR OR ORANGE JUICE OR MILK IF NEEDED. I ALSO THINK CREAM CHEESE WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION..

How To Make orange cream frosting

    Cream margarine or butter.
  • 2
    Gradually add powdered sugar alternately with milk and orange juice. Beating well with mixer.

    Mix in yellow and red food color drops. Mix until well blended.

    Add salt, and flavorings. Mixing until smooth. Spread on cake, cupcakes or cookies.
