This orange quick bread reminds us of a super-rich pound cake with a subtle orange flavor. The loaf is super moist and tender - almost has a creamy texture. Nuts add a little texture and feel free to add more if you love nutty bread. Drizzling orange juice on the top crust was our favorite part.

Ingredients
- 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons grated orange peel
- 1/4 cup orange juice
How To Make orange cream cheese bread

Step 1Combine cream cheese and shortening, creaming well.

Step 2Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

Step 3Add eggs, beating well after each addition.

Step 4Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 5Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk.

Step 6Alternate milk and flour mixture ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition.

Step 7Stir in walnuts and orange peel.

Step 8Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 3 inch loaf pans.

Step 9Bake at 375 degrees F for about 55 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 10Let cool in pan for 10 mintues. Then sprinkle orange juice over loaves.

Step 11Remove to wire rack to finish cooling.
