This recipe was given to me by a dear friend. Refreshing and not too sweet. My hubby prefers it without the "frosting" It doesn't last very long when I make it

  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix. i use the butter recipe
  • 1 can(s)
    1 large or 2 small cans mandarin orange segments, drained, reserve juice
  • 3

    container cool whip, thawed
  • 1
    4 serving size instant vanilla pudding & pie filling mix (can also use fat free or sugar free without any problems here
  • 15 oz
    crushed pineapple, drained

How to Make Orange Cream Cake


  1. Preheat oven per package directions. Spray pan(s) with cooking spray. In medium bowl combine cake mix, eggs and juice from Mandarin Oranges. Mix to combine well. Fold in orange segments and blend well. Pour into prepared pan and bake according to pkg directions for size of pan used.
  2. While cake is baking prepare frosting/topping. In medium bowl place Cool Whip and dry pudding mix. Mix to combine well. Add drained pineapple and mix well. When cake has cooled completely, "frost" cake. Refrigerate for approximately 1 hour. Store cake in refrigerator. **If there is any to store that is..ENJOY
