Ingredients

ORANGE CAKE:

1/2 c
butter, softened
1/4 c
milk
1/4 c
fresh squeezed orange juice
2 large
eggs
3/4 c
granulated sugar (superfine, if possible)
1 1/2 c
self-rising flour, sifted
1 Tbsp
fresh orange zest

ORANGE ICING:

1/3 c
butter, softened
1 1/2 c
confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsp
fresh squeezed orange juice
1/2 Tbsp
fresh orange zest

How to Make Orange Cake with Orange Icing

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter an 8x5-inch loaf pan or an 8-inch tube pan; set aside.
  • 2Combine all cake ingredients and beat thoroughly for 3 minutes with electric mixer. Pour batter into prepared cake pan.
  • 3Bake in center of oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool on wire rack. When cooled, invert onto serving platter.
  • 4To make the icing: Combine all the icing ingredients and mix thoroughly. Use icing to frost the cooled orange cake.
