Ingredients
- ORANGE CAKE:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (superfine, if possible)
- 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour, sifted
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
- ORANGE ICING:
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh orange zest
How To Make orange cake with orange icing

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter an 8x5-inch loaf pan or an 8-inch tube pan; set aside.

Step 2Combine all cake ingredients and beat thoroughly for 3 minutes with electric mixer. Pour batter into prepared cake pan.

Step 3Bake in center of oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool on wire rack. When cooled, invert onto serving platter.

Step 4To make the icing: Combine all the icing ingredients and mix thoroughly. Use icing to frost the cooled orange cake.
