Orange Cake with Orange Icing

ORANGE CAKE:

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/4 cmilk

1/4 cfresh squeezed orange juice

2 largeeggs

3/4 cgranulated sugar (superfine, if possible)

1 1/2 cself-rising flour, sifted

1 Tbspfresh orange zest

ORANGE ICING:
-
1/3 cbutter, softened
-
1 1/2 cconfectioners' sugar
-
2 Tbspfresh squeezed orange juice

1/2 Tbspfresh orange zest
How to Make Orange Cake with Orange Icing
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter an 8x5-inch loaf pan or an 8-inch tube pan; set aside.
- Combine all cake ingredients and beat thoroughly for 3 minutes with electric mixer. Pour batter into prepared cake pan.
- Bake in center of oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool on wire rack. When cooled, invert onto serving platter.
- To make the icing: Combine all the icing ingredients and mix thoroughly. Use icing to frost the cooled orange cake.
