Ingredients
- 1 x 200 grams orange
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 3 - eggs
- 185 grams butter ( diced )
- SYRUP
- 1/4 cup orange juice, fresh
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
How To Make one bowl orange cake
-
Step 1Cut unpeeled orange into pieces & remove pips. Place orange into processor & blend until a pulp. Add all rest of ingredients except for syrup & blend well. Pour mixture into greased & lined 20cm SPRING FORM tin.
-
Step 2Put into preheated oven at 180 C Bake approximately 55 mins or until cooked when tested.
-
Step 3Syrup, Heat together orange juice & sugar until sugar is dissolved. Pierce hot cooked cake with skewer & pour over hot syrup. Leave to cool 15 mins in tin.
-
Step 4It you don't have a spring form tin, when you line tin extend lining well above top to lift cake out, as cake can't be turned out after syrup has been poured on.
