old time fudge brownies
This recipe is a very old recipe,it was found in a 1951 copy of Home and Gardens. My family enjoyed this incredibly. Since my daughter likes both cream cheese frosting and fudge frosting I used both.

- 1 cup shortening, butter flavor
- 4 ounces one oz. squares of unsweetened baking chocolate.
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 - eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make old time fudge brownies

Step 1In double boiler melt shortening and chocolate. Set aside to cool.

Step 2In a seperate bowl sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.

Step 3In a mixing bowl beat eggs until light in color. Add sugar. Then add chocolate mix and blend. Add flour and vanilla. Mix well. Pour batter into well greased cake pan. bake for 30-35 mins. Cool completely and cut into squares.
