I got this recipe many years ago from a TV show called Crook and Chase. It won a contest for the best cake recipe on that show. It has been one pf my favorites every since. The ease of mixing it up and getting it in the oven makes it even better.

  • 2 1/2 c
    self rising flour
  • 2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 4
    egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 4
    egg whites (beaten to stiff peaks)
  • 1 can(s)
    8oz crushed pinapple with juice
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp

How to Make Old Kentucky Pound Cake


  1. Mix flour and sugar together
  2. Make a well in center, add yolks and oil. Mix
  3. Fold in egg whites Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
  4. Pour into greased tube pan and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes in a preheated 325 degrees oven.
