This is my moms recipe, and I don't know where she got it from, but it's yummy! She sometimes even added raisins to it, I think about a cup of them.
You can serve this w/out the frosting if you want to serve it w/ whipped cream or ice cream.

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1-1/3 c
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1-1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1
    10 oz can condensed cream of tomato soup
  • 1 stick
  • 2
  • 1/4 c
  • 1
    8 oz pkg reduced fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/8 tsp
  • 3/4 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make Old fashioned spice cake


  1. Heat oven to 350. Lightly spray a 9" x 13" baking pan w/ cooking spray. Place all ingredients, except for cream cheese 1/8 tsp vanilla and powdered sugar into lg bowl.
  2. Beat w/ mixer for about 4 mins, or until completely mixed. Pour batter into pan. Bake 40 mins, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  3. In medium bowl, beat cream cheese, vanilla and powdered sugar until smooth, ( may have to add a tbsp of milk.)Frost cooled cake.
