oh so sad prune cake....
This was a recipe handed down to me by my "ex" boyfriends mom. She gave it to me & told me as long as I was with her son I could never give it out. Haha I'm not with him anymore so "hahaha" to bad,I'm posting lol...

Ingredients
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
- 3/4 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 tablespoon cloves
- 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 - egg yolks
- 3/4 cup prunes,mashed
- 3/4 cup prune juice
- 3 tablespoons baking soda
How To Make oh so sad prune cake....

Step 1Heat oven to 350F. Lightly grease & flour cake pan.

Step 2Sift together the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.

Step 3In a small bowl dissoivle the baking soda in the prune juice.

Step 4In a medium bowl cream the butter with the egg yolks & then add it to the large bowl.

Step 5Then add in the prune juice mixture, add in the mashed prunes to the large bowl & mix well.

Step 6Pour into the cake pan. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Let cool for 10 mins.

Step 7Remove from pan, cool fully & frost with "Prune Frosting".
