boiling water
1 c
uncooked oatmeal
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
1/2 c
butter or margarine (softened)
3 large
1 3/4 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
baking cocoa
1/4 tsp
1 pkg
chocolate chips 12 oz. (divided)
3/4 c
chopped walnuts

How to Make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake


  • 1In a mixing bowl, pour boiling water over oats. Allow to stand for 10 minutes.
  • 2Add sugar and butter to oat mixture stirring until butter melts.
  • 3Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • 4Sift flour, cocoa, ans salt together. Add to batter. mix Well.
  • 5Stir in half of chocolate chips. Pour into 13-9-2in pan. sprinkle top with chopped walnuts and remaining chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for 40 min.
