Ingredients
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 stick butter
- 1 1/4 cups boiling water
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup raisins
- ICING
- 1 cup coconut, flaked
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
How To Make oatmeal cake

Step 1Combine oats, 1 stick butter and boiling water. Let stand 20 minutes. Set aside

Step 2Combine 1 cup brown sugar with remaining ingredients 1 at a time .

Step 3Add oats

Step 4Bake 350 degrees for 35 minutes in a 8x8 pan, or until an inserted knife comes out clean.

Step 5For icing: Mix together 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 stick butter, sweetened milk and coconut

Step 6When cake is done spread this mixture over top of cake and return to oven set on broil but watch it carefully as it will burn quickly
