Ingredients

  • CAKE INGREDIENTS :

  • 1/2 c
    (1 cube ) butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 1/2 c
    sifted flour
  • 2 tsp
    soda
  • 1 can(s)
    (no. 2 ) crushed pineapple ; not drained
  • ·
    coconut icing below
  • COCONUT ICING INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    (1 cube) butter
  • 1 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1 can(s)
    ( 1-1/3 cup ) flaked coconut
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts

How to Make Nothing Cake With Coconut Icing

Step-by-Step

  1. FOR THE CAKE :
  2. Cream butter and sugar ; Beat in one egg at a time.
  3. Sift flour and soda ; Add to creamed mixture , alternately with crushed pineapple.
  4. Turn into a greased 9x13" pan.
  5. Bake @ 350° for 30-35 minutes until cake tests done.
  6. Cool cake then frost with icing.
  7. FOR ICING :
  8. Mix together sugar , butter and 1 cup evaporated milk in a sauce pan ; boil until thick , about 15 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat ; stir in coconut and nuts.
