This cake got its name cause its " Nothing to whip up and ,really nothing to eat seconds or thirds " This recipe was posted in a Old news paper dated back in 1965 by " MRS NEILL GEBHART of Coeur d" Alene , ID. " **UNTRIED RECIPE **

Ingredients

  • CAKE INGREDIENTS :
  • 1/2 cup (1 cube ) butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 can (no. 2 ) crushed pineapple ; not drained
  • - coconut icing below
  • COCONUT ICING INGREDIENTS :
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 cube) butter
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 can ( 1-1/3 cup ) flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

How To Make nothing cake with coconut icing

  • Step 1
    FOR THE CAKE :
  • Step 2
    Cream butter and sugar ; Beat in one egg at a time.
  • Step 3
    Sift flour and soda ; Add to creamed mixture , alternately with crushed pineapple.
  • Step 4
    Turn into a greased 9x13" pan.
  • Step 5
    Bake @ 350° for 30-35 minutes until cake tests done.
  • Step 6
    Cool cake then frost with icing.
  • Step 7
    FOR ICING :
  • Step 8
    Mix together sugar , butter and 1 cup evaporated milk in a sauce pan ; boil until thick , about 15 minutes.
  • Step 9
    Remove from heat ; stir in coconut and nuts.
