This is a simple "pie" that can be made quickly and on short notice.It was given to me from a girl at work and it is a lovely recipe.I like it warm with a bit of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 c
    diced peeled apple
  • ·
    cinnamon sugar mixture for sprinkling

How to Make Norwegian Apple Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine sugar,flour,salt and baking powder.Beat in egg and vanilla.Stir in nuts and apples.Mixture will be thick.Spoon into well greased pie plate and spread evenly.Sprinkle cinnamon/sugar on top before baking. 350* for about 30 minutes.Serve warm or cold , plain or with whipped or ice cream.Tastes more like a rich apple cake than a pie.
