New York Style Crumb Cake
- yellow cake mix
- 4 1/2 c
- all purpose flour
- 4 1/2 stick
- 1 1/2 c
- 4 1/2 tsp
- powdered sugar
How to Make New York Style Crumb Cake
- 1Prepare cake according to package directions. Spray a 10 x 13 jelly roll pan with cooking spray. Distribute cake batter evenly in jelly roll pan. Place in a cool oven. Turn oven to 350 degrees and allow cake to begin to cook.
- 2In the meantime, combine flour, sugar and cinnamon. Cut in sticks of margarine with a pastry blender until it begins to form large crumbs. This may take some time and muscle, but it is worth it.
- 3Once the cake has baked for 20 minutes, sprinkle the entire crumb mixture, evenly, over the top. Continue to bake for an additional 20-30 minutes or until the crumbs begin to become a golden brown.
- 4Allow the cake to cool, completely and then dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
