I always wanted either this cake or a banana cake for my birthday, before I found out how much I love German Chocolate cake! This one is very rich, incredibly good, and easy to make. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1
    yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick
    margarine
  • 1
    egg
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1 box
    powdered sugar (2 1/4 c packed)
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    chopped nuts or 1/2 nuts and 1/2 coconut

How to Make Neiman Marcus Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Crust Layer: mix cake mix, margarine and egg, and pat into a well buttered 9x13.
  2. Middle Layer: Blend cream cheese, powdered sugar and 2 eggs, and pour over the cake mix.
  3. Topping: Cover with the nuts, or the nuts and coconut (my personal favorite, and I typically add some more just in case). Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes but check after 35.
