This was my Nana's pound cake recipe. If we were lucky there would be some left to have toasted with butter.

Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 4 - eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups cake flour unsifted
How To Make nana's pound cake

Step 1Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar and cream together. Add eggs one at a time. Mix thoroughly after each egg. Add milk, flour and flavorings. Mix together.

Step 2Set oven at 300 degrees, do not preheat oven. Bake 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes

Step 3You can substitute margine for butter but tastes better with real butter.

Step 4My daughter and Nana always use a bunt pan. A couple of loaf pans would work also.
