Nana Lou's Cinnamon Coffee Cake

My Grandma would always make this coffee cake for my sister and I. It brings back a lot of memories!

  • 3 c
    flour, unsifted
  • 6 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 c
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
  • 2
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 Tbsp

  • 1 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 5 Tbsp
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 5 Tbsp
    butter, melted

How to Make Nana Lou's Cinnamon Coffee Cake


  1. -MIX BY HAND!-
  2. Sift all dry ingredients together. Cut in butter.
  3. Combine eggs, milk, oil & vanilla together. Add to the dry mixture.
  4. Pour just enough batter to barely cover greased 9x13 pan.
  5. Blend all the topping ingredients together and sprinkle 1/2 of the mixture over the batter. Pour remaining batter on top of cinnamon mixture.
  6. Top batter with remainder of topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. DO NOT TEST TOO EARLY OR CAKE WILL SINK IN THE MIDDLE!
