my mama's oatmeal raisin cake
This cake has been in our family for a long time. I really can't tell you where my mom found it, but it is easy and the results are amazing. Mix everything together and bake. A good spoonful of whipped topping completes it.

Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked oatmeal
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup raisins
- - pecans optional

Step 1PREHEAT OVEN TO 375f. Cook old fashioned oats as directed on box. Allow to sit to cool just a bit. Mom said cold was the best way. In a large bowl mix by hand all the ingredients. Pour into a greased square pan. Bake for 40 minutes.
