This was my grandmother's VERY OLD German receipe passes down to my mom,now me.My mother is almost 90 and I just made it again for her.Very easy and very differant,but so creamy and good.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    creamed cottage cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    unsalted butter,softened
  • 1/2 TSP SALT

  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • pinch
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 large
    juicy lemon/juiced
  • 1 1/4 pt
    whole milk
  • 2
    refrigerated pie crusts

How to Make My Grandmother's German Cheese Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all ingrediants well in mixer
  2. Line 2 pie plates with refrigerated pie crusts or homemade if desired
  3. pour filling over each.
  4. Bake in a preheated 350 oven,about 45-60 minuted until firm like a custard.
  5. CHILL overnight or several hours until very cold.
  6. Can top with fresh whipped cream if desired or pie filling.
