my grandma's tomato soup cake
My grandmother was a wonderful cook and baker. She worked full time and still had a full meal on the table every night. On Saturdays she baked kuchen for the week. She loved to cook with tomato soup and I have many of her recipes with this favorite ingredient of hers.

Ingredients
- 1 - tomato soup
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups raisins
- 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
How To Make my grandma's tomato soup cake

Step 1Blend shortening and sugar. Combine tomato soup, water and baking soda.

Step 2Add to first mixture the dry ingredients. Stir in raisins and nuts.

Step 3Pour cake batter into a greased 9"x13" cake pan. Bake at 350-degrees for 45 minutes.

Step 4Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
