This is a snack that the kids always love. (Kids of all ages that is!) Muddy Buddies are a staple at the monthly Bunko get together.

Ingredients

  • 9 c
    chex cereal
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/4 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1.5 c
    confectioners' sugar

How to Make Muddy Buddies

Step-by-Step

  1. Use 9 cups of chex cereals, mixed or all one kind.
  2. Place in a large bowl.
  3. Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a quart microwave safe bowl.
  4. Microwave on high for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until smooth, stirring after 1 minute.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated.
  7. Then pour cereal mix into a plastic zipper-lock bag with the powdered sugar.
  8. Seal securely.
  9. Shake until all pieces are well coated.
  10. Spread on wax paper to cool.
  11. Store in an air tight container.
