mrs. wyman's apple nut cake

When I was growing up, I remember my neighbor borrowing a cup of sugar from us in the fall and she would bring us back a plate with this wonderful apple cake on it. I love making this every fall and taking some to my neighbors... otherwise I would eat the whole thing!

Ingredients
- 1-3/4 cup sugar
- 3 - eggs
- 1 cup oil
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups apples
- 1 cup walnuts
How To Make mrs. wyman's apple nut cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Beat eggs till whipped and mix in the sugar.

Step 3Add the oil and vanilla, mix till creamy.

Step 4In a separate bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together. Mix them in with the other ingredients.

Step 5Peel and cut apples into coarse chunks. Coarsely chop the nuts. Fold both of these items into the batter.

Step 6Turn batter into a well greased and floured 9x12 pan. Bake 1 hour or until top is dry at 350 degrees.

Step 7Sprinkle top with sugar when slightly cool.
