Recipe adapted from the ( TOWN HILL PLAYGROUND COOKBOOK) I sometimes add 1/2 cup raisins and chopped walnuts to the apples. Dried cranberries would also be good.

Ingredients
- FILLING
- 1/4 cup butter
- 6-8 cups apples, pared, cored and sliced
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
- TOPPING
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar or splenda
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
How To Make mrs. kerns' warm apple pudding cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 375

Step 2Prepare the filling: Melt the butter in a 13 x9x2-inch baking pan in the preheated oven. Add apples; toss to coat. Stir together the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Toss to mix.

Step 3Prepare the topping: Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. add the butter, milk, eggs and vanilla. Beat the mixture for 2 minutes or until blended and smooth. Spread evenly over apples to cover.

Step 4Bake in oven for 40 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes. Cut into squares. Spoon juices in the bottom of pan over cake. Refrigerate left overs.
