  • 1 box
    chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box
    instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4
  • 1 c
    chocolate chips

  • 1 - 8 oz
    cool whip, thawed
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 1 /3 c
  • 1 - 8 oz
    sour cream

How to Make Mounds Cake


  1. Preheat oven to 325° F. Grease and flour a 9x13 cake pan.
  2. For the cake:

    Mix all ingredients and pour into a prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 28-32 minutes or until done; cool.
  4. For the frosting:

    Using a mixer I mix the sugar and sour cream together well. Then blend in the cool whip and coconut with a spoon or spatula.

    Frost the cake once cool.
