Here is my version of your Mounds Cake! Absolutely the best cake I've ever baked and my family raved about it!

Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 box instant chocolate pudding
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 - eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
FROSTING
1 - 8 ounces cool whip, thawed
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1 /3 cups coconut
1 - 8 ounces sour cream

How To Make mounds cake

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325° F. Grease and flour a 9x13 cake pan.

Step 2

For the cake: Mix all ingredients and pour into a prepared pan.
Step 3

Bake for 28-32 minutes or until done; cool.
Step 4

For the frosting: Using a mixer I mix the sugar and sour cream together well. Then blend in the cool whip and coconut with a spoon or spatula. Frost the cake once cool.
Step 5

Yum!...The frosting really makes the cake. I could eat it by the spoonfuls...lol!
