This is an old recipe. My Mother made it when I was at home. I believe it was her Mothers. Delicious with sliced strawberries and whip cream.

CREAM
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter (room temperature)
DROP IN
1 large egg, beat well
ADD
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons baking powder

How To Make mother's strawberry shortcake

Step 1

Cream sugar and butter.

Step 2

Add egg and beat well
Step 3

Add milk, flour and Baking powder. Mix well.
Step 4

This was always made in a pie pan. Do not know why. Maybe that was always the way my Grandmother fixed it.
Step 5

I doubled the recipe and used my pan that makes small cute cakes.
