As a kid this was one of my favorite cakes and it still is.
Ingredients For mother's crumb cake
all purpose flour
shortening, butter flavor
buttermilk or sour milk
How To Make mother's crumb cake
Mix together dry ingedients, work in shortening until crumbly.
Mix together the eggs, molasses and buttermilk. Add to dry miture. Mix. Grease adn flour a large cake pan (larger than a 9x13). Pour mixture into pan.
Mix together 2 tbsp of flour, 8 tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Melt 4 tbsp of butter. Pour the butter over the cake. Sprinkle the dry ingedients over the butter.
Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes.
