"mother's" black chocolate cake
My mom regularly made this cake... it is moist, chocolately, and very easy. You can frost if you like, but it doesn't really need more than a dusting of powdered sugar. (I still bake it in the same pan she used all those years ago).

- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 - eggs
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa, unsweetened
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make "mother's" black chocolate cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 and prepare a 13x9 pan by spraying with cooking spray.

Step 2in large bowl sift together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. set aside.

Step 3in medium bowl whisk buttermilk, oil, and eggs.

Step 4Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until thoroughly mixed. Add boiling water to which 1 tsp vanilla has been added. Stir to combine.

Step 5Pour into 13x9 pan which has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Step 6Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
