Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • FILLING:
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk

How To Make *** mom's twinkie cake ***

  • Step 1
    Bake cake mix according to directions in 9 x 13" pan.
  • Step 2
    Bring filling to a boil until thickened. Cool.
  • Step 3
    Beat remaining ingredients until fluffy. Add filling to mixture, beat until fluffy.
  • Step 4
    Cut cake in 1/2 lengthwise. Put all filling on bottom 1/2 cake & put 2nd 1/2 of cake on top.
  • Step 5
    VARIATION: Can make into Suzie-Q cake by using Chocolate Cake Mix instead.
