butter
1 box
yellow cake mix
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
2 c
or 1 box powdered sugar

How to Make Mom's Gooey Butter Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350F.
  • 2Mix together dry cake mix, butter, and 2 eggs and press into a greased 9" x 13" cake pan, pushing the sides up slightly to hold the filling.
  • 3For filling: Mix cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs, and powdered sugar, till smooth.
  • 4Pour filling into crust and bake for 35 minutes.
  • 5Let cool. Serve at room temperature. Store in refrigerator.
