moms devils food cake

This was my Moms "Go To" cake for most everything. Birthdays, bake-sales etc. She made cup cakes by the hundreds and when my own boys had bake sales at school to raise money for their prom/s, I made them. I always made two double batches and the boys laughed because THEIR goods were gone first...Mom's old handwritten recipe I have, says "True Devils Food Cake" on it. This cake stays unbelievably moist, but it won't be around long enough for you to worry about that! LOL I went searching the site to see if I wasn't just duplicating someone elses post and it doesn't appear so. I DID find another terrifically simple cake which I made and will link hers to this.
